A Victorian sterling silver mustard pot, London 1860 by Edward & John Barnard
Of cylindrical form upon a shaped moulded foot, a double C scroll handle leading to a stepped gently domed lid raised by a die stamped husk thumbpiece. The front engraved with a shaped strapwork vacant cartouche. The lid engraved centrally with a gourd, grapes, pears and other fruits against an engine turned background reserved within strapwork. Fitted with a removable blue glass liner. Fully marked underneath and part-marked to lid, also stamped with numerals underneath 523.
