A George III sterling silver basing spoon, London 1773 by John Lambe

Old English pattern, virginal erased, fully marked to stem. Together with a marrow scoop, London 1798 by Peter and Ann Bateman, engraved with a crest of a demi-lion, ducally crowned, gorged with a Collar, in the dexter paw a cross crosslet fitchée, the sinister paw resting on an escutcheon of the third, charged with a fleur-de-lis. (2)

Basting spoon length – 28.2 cm / 11 inches

Weight – 136 grams / 4.37 ozt
