Possibly a Guler artist, Provincial Pahari School, Northern India, late 18th - 19th century

Opaque pigments heightened with little gold on thin wove paper, the vertical composition depicting a gathering of white-clad men and a young prince in a modest interior, one of the men reading from a manuscript and the other in front of him instructing the young prince, a visitor disrupting the gathering on the far right, mounted on a later burgundy red cardboard page, 27.2cm x 22.5cm.
