A Victorian sterling silver mustard pot, London 1852 by George John Richards

Of octagonal form with moulded rims, the hinged lid with raised octagonal centre, raised by a openwork scroll thumbpiece. The body and lid with flat chased decoration of foliate C scrolls reserved with lattice work, a cartouche to the front engraved with an initial I in gothic script. Fitted with a removable circular blue glass liner, gilt interior. Fully marked underneath and part-marked to lid, also stamped underneath with numerals 5413.

Height – 6.6 cm / 2.7 inches

Weight – 103 grams / 3.31 ozt
