A composite early 20th century Iraqi silver and niello cruet, Omara or Basra circa 1930 partly signed Abdul Jabbar
Comprising a pepper and salt signed as above, each of hexagonal form, the pepper modelled after a minaret with a pull off lid surmounted by a crescent finial. Each with nielloed scenes including the Taq Kasra (Ruins of Ctesiphon), mudif, boatmen in gufa, dhow sailing boats. Together with another pepper signed Shoodod, of similar minaret form also with a nielloed initial L in cursive script. All on a trefoil form stand with detachable carrying handle, signed. (4)
