ELEVEN IZNIK POTTERY TILE FRAGMENTS
Ottoman Turkey, 16th and 17th centuries

Comprising eleven tile fragments in different shapes and sizes, painted in cobalt blue, copper green, bole red and light blue with black outlines against white ground, showcasing a range of classical Iznik pottery motifs featuring chintamani motif, sinuous Chinese cloudbands, palmettes, stylised lotus flowers, arabesque medallions, saz leaves, and vegetal meanders, the largest fragment 11cm x 23.5cm, the smallest 3.5cm x 7.5cm.
