Comprising a Daftar-e Ishq, Turkish poetry printed book on paper, 72ff. plus two fly leaves, each folio with 25ll. of black naskh type-set, with detailed descriptions of the female beauty from each known country, and alluring verse regarding profane love, in marbled paper board binding with leather spine and corners, with a library stamp of Edward Heron-Allen (1861 - 1943), printed by Amera Publishing House, Istanbul, 1253 AH (1837), 21cm x 15.2cm; and another, the story of Zulf-e Siah, 32ff., each folio with 17ll., the colophon dedication to the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Mejid I (r. 1839 - 1861), dated 1266 AH (1849), signed by the calligrapher Darwish Mahmoud, with grey end papers, in a soft marbled board, 21cm x 15cm.
Edward Heron-Allen, polymath, Turkish and Persian scholar, and an early translator of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, compiled a library of 12,000 books on a variety of subjects and in several languages.
