FOURTEEN BURMESE BRONZE OPIUM AND MEASURING WEIGHTS
Myanmar (Burma), South East Asia, 17th to 19th century
Comprising two brass and twelve bronze examples of Burmese weights, each supported by a polygonal pedestal except two, the majority decorated with Hamsa ducks, some with Chinese-inspired shishi and qilin figures, an unusual weight of stopper-like shape featuring a figure, possibly a local deity or divine being, with an ornate headdress holding a stick in each hand, the tallest 6.5cm and the smallest 2.7cm, the figural weight 9cm long.
