A large George V ‘Arts and Crafts’ sterling silver and silver-plated cup and cover, London 1931 by Omar Ramsden (1873-1939)
Of tapering cylindrical form upon a spreading circular foot with a central knop. The body with strap work applied with collet set polished cabochon cut agates. The pull off lid with centrally faceted domed section centred in the form of a church with pierced sides, surmounted by a figure of the naked Christ child. The outer edge of rim with applied interlaced thorns with short cylindrical pillars with collet set polished cabochon cut agates. The lid fully marked to the flange and engraved OMAR RAMSDEN ME FECIT. The silver-plated body unmarked.
