A George II sterling silver marrow scoop, London 1758 by Paul Callard (reg. 8th Jan 1752)
Of conventional double ended plain form with shoulders. Later engraved initials to reverse of large bowl RH in cursive script. Fully marked.

The RH is for Robert Haladane (1764-1842), thence by descent
The Callard family were prolific manufactures of flatware in the mid-18th century, starting with Paul’s father Isaac who first registered a mark on the 7th February 1726. Paul Callard died in 1768.
