A Victorian sterling silver mounted claret jug, Sheffield 1878 by Roberts & Belk
The globular clear glass body with wheel cut decoration, the mount with engraved holly leaves and berries, the top hinged lid with a cast greyhound couchant figure. Engraved to the interior with a presentation inscription reading “Presented by William Ferguson Esq of Kinmundy to the agricultural Buchan society for best bull 1878”. Fully marked to side of handle, part-marked to greyhound and lion passant only to lid.
