An early 20th century Iraqi silver and niello compact, circa 1930 possibly signed Jassim or Hakim
Of octagonal form modelled after a bazuband, the lid with a niello scene of Tomb of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Gilani, Baghdad, within an eight-pointed star reserved with lines and engraved hatching. The reverse with a scene of three dhow sailing boats and a mudhif. Interior lacking mirror. Signed to the reverse.
