Ottoman Syria, late 16th - early 17th century
Comprising two tiles, each of square shape, underglaze painted in shades of cobalt blue and turquoise, featuring a typical vegetal scrollwork motif with interlocking lotus flower and rosette stems crossed by a pair of curving saz leaves, 25.1cm x 25.2cm and 21.7cm x 25cm.
Provenance: Previously part of a Private Collection based in London and formed between the 1970s and 1980s.
