A George III sterling silver teapot, London 1792 by John Robins (reg. 20th Oct 1774)
Of oval form with straight tubular spout opposite a wooden C scroll handle leading to a hinged gently domed lid surmounted by a detachable wooden fluted knop finial (brass retaining nut). The body with a bright cut engraved vacant shield shape cartouche to each side, between borders of stylised scrolls, the lid with simple bright cut engraved motifs. Fully marked underneath and with a lion passant to the lid only.
