LE TAXIPHOTE STEREO-CLASSEUR, DISTRIBUTEUR AUTOMATIQUE / BREVETE S.G.D.G' made by Jules Richard, c.1920s, lenses in good condition and fully adjustable, viewer functioning. Complete with nearly 300 glass stereos, a mixture of positive slides together with over 60 autochromes, various subjects including the lying in state of Edward the VII, autochromes of Leslie Newall, a Second Lieutenant in the London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers), who was killed in Flanders in 1915, Glacial Views taken in Switzerland,, Scottish Castles, Tennis, Logging, Haymaking, Views in France including Chateau de Chaumont sur Loire and many more.

PROVENANCE: From the family of Baroness Sharples of Chawton.

--Baroness Sharples of Chawton (11 February 1923 – 19 May 2022) was appointed to the peerage in 1973 after the assassination of her husband, Sir Richard Sharples KCMG MC OBE, the Governor of Bermuda. She was a conservative life peer and remained an active and vocal member of the House of Lords until she retired in 2017. She died in May 2022 at the age of 99. She was the daughter was the daughter of Lt. Cmdr Keith Newall, and Leslie Newall was her uncle.
