The Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Sacraments…, includes the Psalter of Psalms with separate title, engraved title by D. Loggan, partly printed in black and red, black letter, paper flaw to CC4, ex libris and ownership inscription of Roger Wyrleys of Hamstead Hall, His Ma.ties Printers, 1662, bound with The Whole Booke of Psalmes, woodcut title border, black letter, printed music, Printed by S. G. for the Company of Stationers, 1661, some light toning, occasional spotting, contemporary panelled calf, gilt with corner fleurons, featuring James I coat of arms, with inscription ‘Honi soit qui mal y pense’, repaired, new endpapers, folio; with The Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Sacraments, printed in black and red, double column, woodcut historiated initials, intermittent dampstaining, title repaired, some chipping, ink stain on Pp3, Printed by the Assigns of Thomas Newcomb, & Henry Hills, 1710, bound with The Whole Book of Psalms, ownership note of Mary Phillips 1798, contemporary black calf, panelled and gilt, Thomas Hodgkin, 1712, folio (2)

*** The 1662 edition, the first printed after the Restoration of the Monarchy, was the last major revision of the B.C.P

First item Provenance. Roger Wyrleys of Hamstead Hall was Rector of the church of Hunnesworth. This is the earliest record of a Wyrley resident in Hansworth.
