AN EGYPTIAN MUMMY BEAD NECKLACE Middle Kingdom, 13th Dynasty, Circa 1803 - 1649 B.C. Restrung, the necklace is formed of bright blue glazed composition disc beads, interspersed with various glazed composition amulets, including depictions of Bes, the goddess Nut in the form of a sow and the god Thoth in baboon form, some amulets later reproductions, 51cm long approx. Provenance: Private UK collection acquired 9 November 1946. This lot is accompanied by the 1946 certificate of authenticity.
