FOUR ENGRAVED SILVER SAUCERS
Isfahan, Iran, first half 20th century
Each of circular shape, resting on a flat circular base, with a gently everted rim, the centre engraved with a stylised flower, the rim featuring arabesques, stylised lotus flowers, and three roundels filled with the Star of David and Hebrew characters reading Zion, the ancient biblical name for Jerusalem and the Holy Land, a likely private commission from a member of the Persian Jewish community of Isfahan, the base of each saucer stamped 'Juzdani' (Armenian Isfahani silversmith), Isfahan, 84, 12cm diam., total weight 312gr.
