An early 20th century Japanese silver three-piece tea service, circa 1920
Meiji/ Taishō period. Comprising a teapot with swing handle, a milk jug, a covered twin handled sugar bowl together with a pair of sugar tongs. Each of globular form upon a collet foot. The bodies profusely decorated with embossed hanging flowers of Japanese Wisteria, all against a textured ground. The lids surmounted by a gourd form finial. The sugar tongs with arms cast a cherry blossom. Each marked underneath with Jungin standard mark. (4)
