A George VI sterling silver salver, Sheffield 1938 by Mappin and Webb
Of octofoil form with cavetto edge raised on four stile feet, the moulded rim quartered with four stylised Art Deco fans. The field engraved to the centre with an Egyptian interest presentation inscription reading “Presented to E.L Phillip Esq. by the staff of Barclay’s Bank (Dominion, Colonial and Overseas) Alexandria as a token of appreciation and esteem January 16th 1939”. Fully marked and stamped to the reverse.
