An Edwardian sterling silver salver, Birmingham 1903 by William Henry Sparrow

of circular form with cavetto edge raised on three short domed feet, with a die-stamped ornate rim of gadrooning, rose heads and scrolls. The field with engraved decoration of a foliate C scroll cartouche reserved with latticework, with an outer band of wriggle work quartered with foliate scrolls. The centre with an engraved presentation inscription for the King's Shropshire Light Infantry reading “Presented to Major R.E. Lloyd by members (past and present) of H.(Ellesmere) Co 2nd Vol.Bat.K.S.L.I, Xmas 1904”. Fully marked underneath.
