A mid-19th century Ottoman Turkish 900 standard silver shalip cup, with Tughra of Sultan Abdul Mecid (1838-1861)
The base of scalloped circular form with engraved decoration of fruits and fruiting vine, the cup with fluted panel, engrave the same, with a cast acanthus C scroll handle, the domed cover surmounted by a detachable cast flower and calyx finials. Gilt interior. Marked with sahh and tughra (post-1844) marks throughout, the underside of cup and sauce also with assay scrape.
