A monumental mid-20th century Persian (Iranian) silver footed fruit bowl, Isfahan circa 1960, marked Ali Baba

Pahlavi dynasty. Of scalloped fluted circular form upon a screw fitted pedestal knopped stem with a spreading circular foot with a scalloped rim. The body with chased monabbat-kari decoration of alternating figures in various pursuits within shaped vignettes, interspersed with circular cartouches with engraved ghalam zani decoration of animals. All reserved with foliate arabesques. Similar decoration repeated to the stand. Marked to the base foot edge with town mark (Farghandane work of Isfahan), standard mark (۸۴), and workshop or retailer’s mark علی بابا (ALI BABA).
