AFTER GUGLIELMO DELLA PORTA (ITALIAN, 1490-1577): A 17TH CENTURY BRONZE RELIEF PLAQUETTE DEPICTING THE ENTOMBMENT Christ lowered into the tomb flanked by various figures, with a brickwork arch behind and coffered ceiling, lacking top right corner, 19cm high x 17.5cm wide Although from Lombardy, Guglielmo della Porta spent many years working in Rome, where he had the important duty of making lead seals for papal bulls and was commissioned to create the tomb for Pope Paul III.
