A CHINESE BLANC-DE-CHINE FIGURE OF AN OFFICIAL.

Qing Dynasty, 18th Century.

Standing on a base composed of scrolling clouds above waves with arms outstretched to support an open scroll, his peaceful face pierced for attachment of beard and moustache, wearing an official's hat with long tabs, embellished with two moulded dragons chasing after a large pearl, dressed in long robes decorated with incised floral scrolls around the openings of his sleeves and collar, with further wavy patterns at the end of his robes and between two stiff belts encircling his round belly incised with a pattern of a front facing dragon above waves, 38.5cm H.
