An unusual and rare William and Mary silver, filigree, and enamel snuff box, possibly London circa 1690 marked IM incuse (untraced)
Of heart shaped form with a hinged lid with a stand-away hinge. The lid with a central heart shaped painted enamel plaque of a shepherd and his dog reclining against steps edged with a filigree surround set with collet set round cut red paste, all upon a gilt panel. The reverse with engraved initials M T in Roman script. Ferrous hinge pins. Gilt interior. Maker’s mark to base interior.
