A VERY FINE SILK QUM RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA, approx; 144cm. x 104cm. Classic for this type with nicely drawn floral design togehter with animals and perching birds. Colours are well balanced. This rug hs few very small areas of wear to the pile, visible on closer inspecton, otherwise full pile, very soft silk quality. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes. Very fine weave, approx: 9 x 8 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Elegant and very good furnishing piece. Popular type on the market.
