A large early to mid-20th century Iranian (Persian) unmarked silver samovar on stand, Isfahan circa 1920-40
Late Qajar/Pahlavi, the stand of shaped lobed arched and rectangular form decorated with deeply engraved ghalam zani decoration of foliate scrolls with a vacant circular reserve, all edged with repeating quatrefoil flower head motifs. The hot water urn of inverted baluster lobed form upon a stepped circular base raised on four scroll bracket feet, twin handles with turned wooden sections with chased grotesque face junctions, the spout with a scroll spigot with one terminal formed as a bird’s head. The body with deeply engraved ghalam zani decoration of foliate scrolls, birds and vegetation (golo morgh). The waisted and everted neck with a notched beaded rim, the removable domed cover surmounted by a wooden knop finial.
