Opaque pigments and ink heightened with gold on lined paper, comprising two illustrated folios from a Rajasthani manuscript with 13 - 14ll. of black and red ink Devanagari script to the page, one folio depicting a chart with twelve animals and the latter with two scenes (recto and verso) featuring a ruler courting his beloved and having an audience with members of the court, the largest 12.8cm x 27cm; and two illuminated headings possibly from a Bhagavata Purana or a Ramayana manuscript featuring the Samudra Manthana (the Churning of the Ocean of Milk) and a hunting scene, possibly a reference to Lord Rama hunting the golden deer, each illustration framed within heavily gilt floral borders in polychromes, each 11.5cm x 28cm.
