A mid-20th century Iranian (Persian) silver cigarette case, Isfahan circa 1940 mark of Fadavi

Pahlavi dynasty, of rectangular form with a push button release. The front with an engraved ghalam zani scene of a Caspian woman in traditional Gilan dress carrying a young child, attended to by goats before a tree and a row of tents in the background, all within a shaped cartouche, reserved with peonies and foliage. The reverse side engraved in the Shirazi style with two bands of Zoroastrian images showing a standing or seated King Darius with fan bearers behind and tribute bearing emissaries, each attended to by te winged symbol of Ahura Mazda (Ormuzd). Marked to interior with workshop mark فدوی town mark and standard mark (۸۴).
