A pair of unusual George II unmarked silver sugar tongs, probably London circa 1750

Of arched form, the arms formed as pierced interwoven slats, the grips formed as shells bowls. The shoulders with cast and chased stylised classical dolphins atop of C scrolls. The arch engraved with a crest of mullet pierced.

Length – 12.1 cm / 4.75 inches

Weight – 47 grams / 1.51 ozt
