Antoine François Jean Claudet (1797-1867)

PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN, c.1841-1847, sixth plate monochromatic daguerreotype, in a plain brass mount with oval aperutre, housed in a red morocco case with single lower hinge, and with Claudet's Adelaide gallery stamp on the domed lid, some signs of light scratches visible on the plate in raking light, however the plate has been cleaned and resealed and overall is in good condition.
