A George III sterling silver vinaigrette, Birmingham 1814 by Thomas Simpson & Son

Of rectangular form, the lid with engraved decoration of a vacant oval cartouche below a basket of grapes and vine, between panels of rose leaves. The underside with a panel of lattice work. The gilt interior with a hinged pieced grill with an encircled rosette flanked by leaves. Together with a George IV vinaigrette, Birmingham 1827 by Thomas Shaw, engraved with initials SS in cursive script, reserved within an oval of radiating lines edged with leaves, the gilt interior with a hinged pierced grill of foliate scrolls with a rosette. Each fully marked between lid and base, the grills with lion passant only. (2)
