TWO CHINESE FUJIANESE LACQUER 'CHILONG' SCROLL WEIGHTS.

Republic period.

Each painted with brown lacquer and surmounted with a gilt chi dragon chewing on a stem of lingzhi fungus, one additionally painted to the sides with blooming prunus, one marked beneath, 25cm long. (2)

Provenance: from an English private collection.

Two paperweights of similar form collected in Fuzhou 1913-1914 are currently in the collection of the V&A Museum, accession numbers W.139-1928 and W.140-1928.
