A late-20th century Danish sterling silver water pitcher / jug, Copenhagen designed by Johan Rohde (1856-1935) for Georg Jensen, import marks for London 1994

Baluster body with conforming handle leading to an everted lip. Lightly planished surface. Marked underneath with pot-1945 marks, stamped Dessin, model number 432 A and designers stamp.

Height – 22.5 cm / 8.75 inches

Weight – 572 grams / 18.39 ozt

This model was designed by Johan Rohde in 1920, but withheld from production until 1925, considered by Jensen along with other designs of Rohde's as to forward advanced. The model is in the collections of The Museum of Decorative Art, Copenhagen, The National Museum, Stockholm, The National Gallery, Melbourne, and The Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
