清光緒 綠地粉彩繪福壽圖紋大盤,青花「儲秀宮製」篆書款

Chuxiugong, known in English as the Palace of Gathering Elegance, is one of the six Western palaces in the Forbidden City, and was the favoured residence of the Empress Dowager Cixi (1835 – 1908) between 1856 and 1885. The palace quarters were lavishly refurbished to coincide with Cixi’s 50th birthday. The ceramic wares made for the Chuxiugong were often large and monumental and bear Chuxiugong zhi marks inscribed in a bold archaic script.

Estimated at £2,000 - £3,000
