1 Magnum of Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1970
strong crimson garnet, delicate water edge. The nose shows some dark berry sweetness, but does not seem very concentrated, not a perfect texture, overall clean and balanced, little terroir character, red berry finish, medium length. Another bottle in the nose delicately smoky and underlaid with fine velour, fine mint, black pepper, substantial, sour cherry note, delicately leafy, firm tannin core, fine blackberry note, fresh, good potential. Recent fine cocoa nuances, some caramel. Fresh structure on the palate, red berry fruit, delicate cherry notes, elegant and quite finesse. Always identically rated. (Falstaff magazine, 12/2006)
