Barovier & Toso , Murano Italy, a wedding cup, mid 20th century, in cobalt blue glass, the bell shaped top decorated with Byzantine inspired enamelled busts of a courting couple in two medallions, separating the scene of a procession of courtiers on horse back and maidens bathing in the fountain of love and youth, on trumpet shaped foot with swirled gilding, with gilded marks under, (19cm high) Note: The original wedding cup was made in Murano by the glass-making family of Barovier. It was manufactured c. 1470-80, and enamelled by Angelo Barovier. The original is on display at the Murano glass museum.
