A mid-20th century Danish sterling silver water pitcher / ewer, Copenhagen 1959 designed by Kay Fisker (1893-1965) for Anton Michelson

Plain baluster form with a slender neck with integral curving handle. Marked underneath, ‘Sterling Denmark’, A. Michelsen, and date code I9, Kay Fisker and 1,5L. Also, with import marks to the neck for London 1959 by R C P Ltd (untraced)

This model designed in 1926.
Kay Otto Fisker born 14 February 1893, died 21 June 1965.
His work was shown at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, Paris.
