A CHINESE 'EUROPEAN SUBJECT' PAINTED ENAMEL HAND MIRROR.

Qing Dynasty, 18th Century.

The oval mirror attached to the rounded handle by foliate supports, decorated with floral patterns in gilt on a lapis blue ground, the mirror opposite a reverse glass painting of a young European lady at her desk, 28.5cm long.

Provenance: Christie's, Important English Furniture, April 23 1998.
