An early 20th century Chinese export silver bowl, Shanghai dated 1914, marked Jia Ji, retailed by Luen Wo
Republic period. Of rounded circular form with a moulded rim, raised upon three feet formed as Chinese dragons, the heads with cut sheet frill heightened with flat chasing. The body with cast and applied decoration of flowering prunus attended to by birds. Engraved underneath with a presentation inscription reading “Tientsin Club Billiard Handicap Autum 1914 won by A. B. Stewart”. Marked underneath with artisan mark 佳記 (JIA JI, the workshop of Jia), retailer’s mark LW.
