Beykoz, Ottoman Turkey, late 19th century

Of typical globular shape, resting on a flat circular base, rounding up to an inward-tapering rim, the outer diameter of the base cut with small vertical lines, the body decorated with three fully-gilt roundels framed and linked by scrolling vegetal sprays, the rim with a solid gilt band, 15cm diam. and 11cm high.
