Possibly Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, Northern India, mid to late 18th century

Ink on paper, comprising two horizontal sketches from a Ramayana series repeating an analogous courtly gathering, one folio illustrating Rama and Sita enthroned meeting a group of sadhus, the latter with princes and courtly attendants, a row of monkeys, possibly Sugriva's army, queuing outside the palatial compound, each folio set on a white cardboard mount, each 19cm x 28cm.
