Multan, Pakistan, ca. 1920 - 1930

In the shape of an ogival arch, the centre of the tile with cobalt blue calligraphy reading the Muslim shahada (declaration of faith) on a white ground, surrounded by turquoise and cobalt blue iris and rosette floral decorations, set within a thin turquoise band, the reverse with semi-circular indentations, 26.2cm x 28.1cm.
