An Alexander II mid-19th century Russian 84 zolotnik (875 standard) silver sugar basket, Saint Petersburg 1860 by Pavel Fedorovich Sazikov
of circular form with ogee baluster sides, raised on four ball feet. The swing handle with central rib, gilt interior. Fully marked underneath with assayer’s mark for Alexander Nikolaievich Mitin (active 1842-1877), imperial eagle and exhibition warrant of Victoria and Albert, the handle with part-marks.
