AN EGYPTIAN BRONZE SISTRUM HANDLE Late Period, Circa 664 - 332 B.C. The cylindrical handle is surmounted by a head of Hathor, wearing the typical curved wig and aegis, flanked by two uraei, with an altar decorated with a frieze of uraei atop her head, 14cm high, (16.5cm high inc. base) Provenance: Gustave Mustaki, Alexandria, Egypt; exported from Egypt to the UK under licence c.1950; Elsa MacLellan, Portsmouth, UK; thence by descent from the above; Private collection, London, UK; thence by descent from the above; Private collection Rome.
