A MID 19TH CENTURY OAK LIBRARY TABLE

A MID 19TH CENTURY OAK LIBRARY TABLE, the shaped top with offset curved ends and inset with a tooled black leather skiver, the frieze with applied carved decoration, a drawer and dummy drawer to each side, on ornately carved tapering supports united by a stretcher.

77cm high x 158cm wide x 94cm deep

Provenance: This table was was a gift from Lord Astor, the proprietor of The Times newspaper to Edwin Micallef who was also a journalist and his private secretary, who also came from a Maltese family of publishers and newspaper proprietors.
