3rd Reich award presented by Hermann Goring, a neck chain of honour with bust of Hermann Goring, the 10 alternating plaques of swastika and eagle conjoined to allow the bust to be suspended from the lower loop, fitted presentation box with eagle and swastika to the lid. The bust engraved '1940 Hermann Goring Auszeicchnung fur die industrie' (award for industry), the reverse of the swastika plaques stamped with an A. The chain was 'claimed' as war booty and was taken to the United States by Captain Rees and a ticket from the US Army inspectorate bears his name. Goring was instrumental in creating awards and awarding one off pieces and other high grade acknowledgements to persons assisting the German economy and war effort. Awards such as technical achievements & Air Force bears his bust rather than that of Hitler. The style of eagle has also varied in many guises as in the West Hall Medals and Goethe Medal for Art and Science. Chain plaques approx. 3.5 x 3.5cm, bust 8cm, presentation case 40 X 30cm.
