TWO WEMYSS WARE PLATES, 20TH CENTURY

TWO WEMYSS WARE PLATES, 20TH CENTURY, one small and one large, decorated in the 'Cabbage Rose' pattern, with green borders, with painted marks for 'Wemyss' to base, together with a vase, of cylindrical form, also decorated in the 'Cabbage Rose' pattern, with a scalloped green border, stamped Wymess, with a printed mark for T Goode & Co. to base (3)

Provenance: The following pieces are part of the collection of Iris Fox (1913-1992), one of the principal collectors of Wemyss Ware. After her death in 1992, part of the collection was donated to the Newport Museum, whilst the remaining items were auctioned at Sotheby’s Edinburgh, in the single owner sale ‘The Iris Fox Collection’, 7-8th November 1994.

Large Plate: 22.5cm diameter

Vase: 8cm high
