Lucky Seven
Seven nights for seven guests in Portloe on the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall
Escape the urban jungle, and take six of your closest friends or family with you for a Cornish getaway at Farm Cottage in Portloe, ‘the jewel in the crown’ of the Roseland peninsula, and arguably one of the most beautiful villages in Britain.
The cottage nestles into the valley beside the stream that leads to the attractive harbour about 100 metres away. The Ship Inn is just up the road less than two minutes’ walk and the Lugger Hotel is situated in the Harbour. Portloe is ideally situated for walks on the South Cornish Coastal path and the village is the quintessential sleepy fishing village that has been the natural setting for many a television series including the latest Rosamunde Pilcher and The Camomile Lawn.
Originally a farmhouse, the property has been renovated to a high standard. It still retains many of its original features, but is now warm, comfortable, stylish and light filled, decorated with paintings and works by local artists. Turned upside down to help maximise the views, the cottage comprises two double bedrooms, one with ensuite shower; one twin and one single. As well as the ensuite, there is a family bathroom, and an upstairs shower and loo.
The generous donors of this lot say: We are delighted to support this fundraiser for Chiswick House and Gardens. Farm Cottage has been our holiday home for over 30 years. We encourage all our guests to enjoy the peace and quiet of the village and the surrounding beaches and cliff walks.
